someone had a birthday

It's true.  I am no longer 28 or 29 for that matter.  Actually, you can add a few more years onto that number as well.  But not a lot.  Buddy and Dad made me a cake.  I got lovely gifts and Sunshine drew me a fabulous picture on her white board.  I feel loved.

in which my oldest is now a decade old

Buddy turned 10 today.  He wanted a blue angel food cake.  The frosting had half a bottle of food coloring in it and the color stayed so light! It tasted great though.  We had a small family party for him.  He got to open his presents.  It was a good day.

in which Sunshine is the birthday girl

Here she is, in all her 7 year old glory!  We love our Sunshine and are so happy she is a member of our family.  She brightens our days, makes us laugh and is fun to be around.

She was very specific in what she wanted her cake to be.  It had to have sparkly candles that relight and a number 7.  There had to be a tiara made out of sprinkles and purple.  To top it off, there had to be the word princess in cursive in purple.  I think I did the best I could.  She loved it!

in which we celebrate a five year old

Turtle counted down the days to his birthday for almost two months.  He was so excited to turn five because after he turns five he can go to school.  And yes, he knows he has to wait until September.  We had our small family party for Turtle.  He loved everything he received from his family, and the family that sent him things as well.  My favorite reaction was when he opened up the movie, "The Lorax".  He had been asking for that movie for months.  I was more than happy to make him happy.

P.S.  No worries, we had a non-chocolate cake for Dad to eat.  And his was actually tastier than the chocolate one, go figure.

in which we celebrated two birthdays

The Birthday Boys!  I am so happy that my Dad was able to join us this year.  Oh, and my Mom too.  These two are best buds and they were happy to blow out their candles together.  So fun!
