in which we pick a whole bunch of apples

Having fruit trees is very new to us.  We have no idea how to prune or when to pick our apples. So as apples continually started falling down, we decided it was probably time to pick them off the tree.  We spent a Sunday afternoon picking our apples, just to find out many of them were already bad.  Next year we will pick them sooner.
